Anyone who has undertaken an extended bushwalk will know the importance of quality equipment. No surprise then that when it came to choosing a daypack for our walk we spent a lot of time researching available products out there in the market place. Although our guests only carry a light day pack on the Southern Ocean Walk with their lunch, drinks & personal items comfort is still a key factor.
Osprey is a leader in the pack market and their Stratos model is ideally suited for our day hikes. It features a suspended mesh back panel which is very rare in day packs. This ensures excellent airflow and avoids the clammy perspiration that often occurs between pack and back.
As one reviewer said “In terms of carrying comfort, this pack is as good as it gets in the daypack market”. We agree and so do many our customers who often comment on its comfort.
The other critical feature is the way in which weight is transferred. Most day packs carry the weight on your shoulders which can be very tiring not to mention uncomfortable. The internal frame puts the weight mostly on your hips via a generously padded waste belt to make for a very enjoyable day’s walk.
Last but not least the shoulder straps are fully adjustable to accommodate different heights and body sizes. Long story short: We’ve taken a load off your back.
