Your Stay

The Location

Front and centre in our walk is the spectacular South Coast with its pristine coast line and rugged landscape. The Southern Ocean is our permanent companion as we follow the iconic Heysen Trail.  The jewel in this crown is Deep Creek Conservation Park, the largest parcel of uncleared sclerophyll forest in the Mount Lofty Ranges.  The Park is rich in wildlife and home to several endangered native animals and rare orchids. To date, 118 bird species have been recorded and the ever present western grey kangaroos are prolific throughout the Park.  A not widely known fact is that more species of fungi are found here than anywhere else in the State.

Accommodation

The immersive experience you will enjoy during your walk continues off trail as our accommodation is exclusively located in the heart of Deep Creek Conservation Park. Sit back on the balcony with a pre-dinner drink and watch the local wildlife go about its business at close range.  Staying at our comfortable homestead each night means you’ll only unpack once.  Our unique location also means that transfers to and from the trail are short, leaving you refreshed after your walk.  Enjoy an invigorating foot bath and reflect on the day’s discoveries while our staff prepare dinner.  The charm and secluded setting of our accommodation will soon have you settled into a blissful state of relaxation.

Food & Wine

The Fleurieu Peninsula has an enviable reputation for its outstanding flavours.  Often described as a foodie’s paradise it features an extensive range of clean green small scale food producers.  Add to this more than 100 cellar doors from 2 world class wine regions and you have a rich pantry of locally sourced ingredients from which to choose.

We take great pride in being able to offer you meals that reflect our region’s rich heritage with an emphasis on fresh local foods.  From cheese to chocolates and bread to beer we source our ingredients from local providores to ensure this walk appeals as much to your taste buds as it does to your inner explorer.

The McLaren Vale wine region has a world-wide reputation for producing superb drops with some of the region’s first vines having been planted in 1838. Our wines are carefully selected from small batch vineyards grown on our doorstep.
